Kayte O'Malley

Kayte O’Malley is an award-winning radio and television broadcaster based in Galway. Having worked in various radio stations including Spin South West, Classic Hits and iRadio, Kayte recently took up a new role presenting Galway Bay FM's drivetime show On the Move (weekdays 3-7PM). Prior to that, Kayte presented and produced a specialist music show on iRadio called iLove Irish - a weekly programme dedicated to giving homegrown talent a platform - a passion that she is continuing to pursue in her new role. As well as music shows, Kayte has produced several documentaries including the Mental Health Media Award and IMRO Award nominated All About Autism and the BAI Sound and Vision funded Irish-language series Making An Ghaeilge Great Again. This year has seen Kayte receive nominations for Best Presenter in both the Hotpress Awards and the Celtic Media Awards, while in 2019 Kayte won the bronze IMRO Radio Award for Best Newcomer. 

Having worked with Irish-language TV production company Red Shoe Productions as a Producer for the last number of years, Kayte's first foray into TV presenting airs this summer. Night and Day; ó Dhubh go Dubh - a 5-part series filmed at last year's Night and Day Festival - begins on TG4 on June 18th. Kayte continues to work on the development of new TV programmes with the team at Red Shoe. Kayte is also a member of the Irish Language Advisory Committee.
